LCFF Budget Overview for Parents
As part of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF) and the Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) process, Local Education Agencies (LEAs) are required to submit an annual LCFF Budget Overview for Parents. The purpose of this document is to help parents understand their district or LEA’s budget.
The Budget Overview for Parents contains charts and narratives designed to show the amount of LCFF funds and other revenue an LEA expects to receive, how much the LEA plans to spend overall, what the LEA budgeted to spend in the last year on the LCAP to increase or improve services for high need students, and what the LEA actually spent. The Budget Overview for Parents is designed to be presented as a cover to the LEA’s annual LCAP. However, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic, Senate Bill 98 separated the development and adoption of the Budget Overview for Parents from the development and adoption of the LCAP for the 2020–21 school year.
